C-AIRDREAM

The presentation of C-Airdream (2+2 coupé concept car) at the 2002 Paris Motor Show was an opportunity for Citroën to establish the long-term foundations of its styling language. C-Airdream combined flowing lines, clean contours, sophisticated materials and original use of light, taking passengers on a journey through the senses.

Sculpted lines, contrasting colours,  noble materials and plays of  light created a harmonious car with immediate appeal.
C-Airdream also explored a new avenue in technology; electrical control systems. Using the benefits of drive-by-wire technology, electronic actuators were used to control all of the vehicle's dynamic functions including the accelerator, brakes and steering.

C-AIRLOUNGE

Unveiled at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, C-AirLounge embodied an original architectural solution, combining a modular interior with innovative styling. For the first time in a vehicle of this size, styling came into its own to give the concept car a dynamic and elegant look.

To make full use of space at the rear, a power-assisted modular design feature let users choose a four or five-seat layout.  During their journey, the occupants of C-Airlounge could change the appearance of their surroundings, transforming the passenger compartment from top to bottom.
With C-AirLounge, Citroën once more demonstrated its ability to combine innovation with driving pleasure.

C-SPORTLOUNGE

Presented at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, C-SportLounge was a new take on a grand tourer. A concept car of sleek design lines, C-SportLounge also had powerful presence with an oversized grille flanked by wide air intakes. Another original feature was the reverse-opening rear doors, with door handles concealed in the pillars.

The luxurious cabin of C-SportLounge was designed to seat four adults comfortably. The driving position was designed to resemble a cockpit, inspired by aerospace technology. The one-piece design of the driver's seat and central console brought all the controls within easy reach.
C-SportLounge was a superb expression of a sporty 4-door coupé with grand tourer spirit.

C-AIRPLAY

Presented at the 2005 Bologna Motor Show, C-AirPlay was a new take on compact vehicles. Its original architecture featured an exterior of strong curves with no sharp breaks in the design lines, and a cabin of understated design that placed the emphasis on driving sensations.

C-AirPlay brought driver and passengers alike a new experience in driving pleasure based on physical and visual perceptions. Tactile zones in the centre of the front seats included a number of controls, including the gear shift. From even the lowest speeds, the air flow was perceptible and active.  At the same time, light flooded in through the roof opening and porthole windows, amplifying the sensations enjoyed by passengers as part of a new approach to the road.

C-BUGGY

C-Buggy, unveiled at the 2006 Madrid Motor Show, was a radically new take on the leisure supermini, Citroën's vision of a small off-roader with a strong personality and a car that made no concessions, C-Buggy placed the focus squarely on performance, modern design and symbiosis with its environment.

A car of original architecture, C-Buggy combined a high-performance chassis and engine, with flowing, dynamic body lines. The absence of a roof and windscreen created a new sensation of total freedom, placing the occupants in direct contact with the air and the elements.
A fun, go-anywhere kind of car, C-Buggy was a leisure vehicle designed for freedom and adventure.

C-CACTUS

C-Cactus was presented at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. With this ingenious concept, Citroën developed a new vision of the car, focused on essential values. The Marque's ambitious aim was to market an ecological hatchback with cheerful, attractive styling, equipped with a diesel hybrid drivetrain and sold at the same price as an entry-level saloon.

To square this complex equation, C-Cactus explored new forms of design. It abandoned features that were not essential to comfort to focus instead on ecological technology and equipment.
With its diesel hybrid drivetrain and low weight, C-Cactus consumed just 2.9 l/100 km for CO2 emissions of 78g/km.

GTBYCITROËN

With the GTbyCITROËN concept car presented at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, Citroën became the first vehicle manufacturer to cross over into the virtual world. GTbyCITROËN was the result of a partnership between Citroën and Polyphony, designer of the driving simulation game Gran Turismo.

GTbyCITROËN was geared to the world of motor racing, with its dynamic styling, sculpted lines and sharp graphics. The cabin reflected the same approach, using premium, extensively worked materials to provide a high-tech driving environment.
In the Gran Torismo game, GTbyCITROËN featured an original electric drive system powered by a fuel cell. It was able to square up to the strongest competitors, while producing absolutely no pollutant emissions.

HYPNOS

At the 2008 Paris Motor Show, Citroën took the wraps off the concept car Hypnos, a new take on the world of exceptional vehicles.

An elegant cross-over vehicle with a cabin of rainbow hues, Hypnos drew upon a range of creative technologies to deliver outstanding performance and environmental efficiency, combined with subtle but powerful motoring sensations.
The special diesel hybrid technology used on Hypnos, combined with an electric motor on the rear axle, illustrated Citroën's approach to environmental issues. It showed, once again, that the brand's strong ecological focus is always accompanied by driving thrills and efficiency.

REVOLTE

At the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, Citroën once more proved its credentials as a bold forward-looking brand with the Revolte concept car.

This bold, chic compact city car opts for luxury with a cheeky touch, alongside power and verve. With its iridescent, glossy colours, silky smooth textiles, and subtle, sophisticated materials, Revolte places passengers in a feminine, cosmetic setting.
Spirited and lively, Revolte also has an eye on the future with its rechargeable hybrid drivetrain. This ecologically sound technology makes maximum use of electric mode and also contributes to the concept car’s agility.
