Will I get a new car and what are the purchase taxes such as VAT/GST?

Your Citroën DriveEurope car is a brand new vehicle and, under the special arrangement with the French Government, it is tax free.

Is my DriveEurope Citroën insured?

Citroën DriveEurope includes full comprehensive insurance.

Does my new Citroën require a service?

Yes. The first service is required between 15,000 and 20,000 kilometres which will be at your cost.

How much fuel will the car have?

Approximately 10-15 litres of fuel (petrol/diesel) is provided free of charge. Fuel and oil thereafter is at your cost.

What happens if I have a problem with my Citroën?

Your DriveEurope Citroën includes a 24 Hour Freecall emergency assistance number in more than 35 countries. Your vehicle also comes with a New Car Warranty and you are free to visit any Citroën Car Dealership in Europe by appointment.

What are the age limits for drivers?

The minimum driver's age is 21 years with a full valid driver's licence. There is NO UPPER age restriction.

Do I need an International Driver's Licence?

Yes, you do need an International Driving Permit for Europe. In some countries it is a legal requirement to carry an International Driving Permit, as you may be required to produce this document to the Police in the event of an accident. Failure to provide the document could result in a fine. Click here for more information.

Is a diesel car better than a petrol model?

Citroën offer an extensive range of both petrol and diesel models. If you plan on a long stay and driving many miles, then we recommend a car with diesel fuel. It is generally cheaper to purchase and gives better mileage.

Does my car have a Global Positioning System (GPS)?

Citroën DriveEurope offers many models with NAVIDRIVE GPS navigation systems. For further information on which models GPS is available on, see Specifications page.

What about additional drivers?

  • Additional drivers are free, however the registered driver must be in the vehicle at all times whilst the additional driver is driving.
  • The immediate family members may drive locally without the registered driver in the vehicle.
  • Under no circumstance can the family member take the vehicle across any borders without the registered driver being in the vehicle.
  • Immediate family members are spouse, son, or daughter of the registered driver travelling under the same surname and residential address as the registered driver. All additional drivers must comply with all requirements of the lease.
