A new compact SUV that will compliment the Citroen C4 hatchback, the seven seat C4 Picasso people mover and the luxurious DS4 to further strengthen Citroen’s unique range of vehicles in this all-important size category.
Citroen has now replaced one model in this size category with four distinct and different models, enabling each to be more fully focussed on its particular role, so that that Citroen C4 is the traditional five door hatchback with the emphasis on comfort and ease of use; the C4 Picasso is the full seven seat people mover designed to meet the requirements of seven people and their luggage on the move; the Citroen DS4 is crossover that blends a performance coupe and the convenience and ease of use of five doors with a bespoke premium design, trim and equipment level; the new Citroen AirCross brings the features and appeal of a compact SUV to this size category for the first time in a Citroen.
All four of these vehicles clearly apply Citroen’s unique ‘Créative Technologie’ to deliver new technical solutions that provide new levels of comfort, performance, low emissions, excellent fuel consumption and a unique chic style.
The Citroën C4 AirCross, which will arrive in Australia towards the end of 2012, is a fresh take on conventional compact SUV design, combining design with technological innovation. The qualities of this new body style make it a perfect fit with contemporary lifestyles, introducing a sense of escape into everyday activities:
- Strong, elegant styling drawing upon brand DNA;
- Transmission to suit all requirements; all-terrain traction, when needed, with three manually selected modes (2WD, 4WD and Lock);
- Just 119 g of CO2/km with the two-wheel drive HDi 115 version, among the lowest carbon emissions in its segment; Stop&Start technology across the entire engine range;
- Architecture combining compact lines and a vehicle length of just 4.34 m, generous interior space and, in particular, boot capacity of 442 litres;
- The comfort and driveability that ensure the success of Citroën hatchbacks and saloons;
- A sense of onboard comfort and relaxation, with a raised driving position, panoramic glass roof and an intuitive driving position that places the emphasis on driving comfort and easy everyday use;
- A wide array of high-tech equipment: a Navidrive navigation system with a touch screen and rearview camera, hands-free access and start-up, a Rockford hi-fi system and a music server.
Available in two- wheel and four-wheel drive versions, the Citroën C4 AIRCROSS will make its European debut in the first-half of 2012 following its world preview at the Geneva Motor Show and it will be launched in Australia towards the end of the year when local prices and specifications will be announced.
