As proud partners of the Amy Gillett Foundation, in 2023 Citroën Australia raffled a brand-new MY22 Citroën C5 X to raise funds to support the Foundation’s mission of improving cycling safety in Australia through the Safe Roads for Safe Cycling program.
The Foundation was established in memory of Amy Gillett who, whilst cycling in Germany as part of the Australian women’s cycling team in 2005, tragically lost her life after being struck by a car. The Amy Gillett Foundation is now Australia’s leading cycling safety organisation and is instrumental in mapping safe streets for cyclists, educating drivers about maintaining a safe distance, and being an advocate for improving cyclist safety.
The core mission of the Amy Gillett Foundation is to reduce the death and injury of cyclists on Australian roads, a passion Citroën shares and supports through its partnership with the Foundation.
At the raffle launch Kate Gillis, Managing Director Citroën Australia, commented: “We’re honoured that the new Citroën C5 X, our flagship vehicle, can play a role in raising awareness around the importance of cycling safety in Australia and that this raffle will raise crucial funds to support the Foundation’s mission to improve safety on our roads. It is important for drivers, as well as cyclists, to be aware of the dangers posed to those riding on the road, and partnerships such as this highlight this shared responsibility.”
